Stormwater
Our firm has provided services for numerous communities
relative to stormwater management. In order to satisfy
the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection
stormwater management policy, standards must be met
including suspended solids removal, recharge to groundwater
and control of post development runoff rates and volumes.
Our firm has designed and implemented best management
practices (BMP’s) in compliance with these standards,
as well as provided technical review for designs from
outside firms.
In 2003, municipalities within Massachusetts containing
population density based urbanized areas were required
to obtain stormwater discharge permits called Phase
II MS4 permits. Our firm has provided services to aid
these municipalities with their 5-year permits in identifying
illicit discharges of contaminants, and development
and implementation of educational programs to reduce
the discharge of pollutants. In addition, we have provided
assistance in securing grants for the mitigation of
untreated stormwater runoff from entering resource areas.
