Every water system needs a long range plan. Through
the performance of a water supply and distribution study,
a staged program of improvements is developed for the
client. Additionally, a calibrated computer hydraulic
model of the system allows for review of potential impacts
of proposed developments in the service area. The report,
when successfully followed, provides a blueprint of
prioritized improvements for our clients.
These plans are recommended to be updated every 10
years to reflect changed conditions such as new developments,
changes in water quality at the source of supplies,
and the reduction of carrying capacity of water mains
over the years due to tuberculation.
A
typical water supply and distribution evaluation
includes:
Preparation of a base map of the existing
water system.
Model calibration using field flow tests.
Projection of future population and water
demands.
Evaluation of the storage capacity of the
existing water system.
Evaluation of the existing and future water
supply capacity.
Develop a phased, prioritized recommendation
plan for the water supply and distribution system.
