North Attleborough Water Treatment Facilities

& Howard conducted a Water Quality Study that addressed
the Town's corrosion control practices as well as evaluated
changes in quality, specifically the increased levels
of iron and manganese. The pilot treatment study for
manganese removal with greensand pressure filtration
was conducted at the Kelley Wells 1 and 2. The manganese
concentrations in these wells have consistently increased
during the past decade. Tata & Howard completed
the design of the 2 mgd capacity treatment facility
and provided engineering services during the construction
of the facility.
 A
second similar water treatment facility is under construction
for the Towns of North Attleborough and Plainville.
The 4.4 mgd greensand facility received DWSRF funding
with the highest ranking in the Commonwealth under the
last round of funding. The total funding secured from
the DWSRF program is approximately $3.79 million.
