Ayer Grove Pond Water Treatment Facilities

& Howard provides water and wastewater related engineering
services for the Town of Ayer. Tata & Howard provided
construction administration and startup services for
Ayer's Department of Public Works during the construction
of their new 1.5 mgd capacity Water Filtration Facility.
This facility is designed to remove iron and manganese
from the Town's water supplies utilizing greensand filtration.
The project also included the cleaning and rehabilitation
of two existing wells and the construction of interconnecting
pipelines. After start-up of the new facility, it was
found that the facility removed trace amounts of arsenic
from the water, which had been of great concern to the
community.
