Franklin Water Treatment Facility at Wells No. 1 and 2
Due
to presence of iron and manganese
at two of Franklin's water supply wells, the Town took
steps to construct a water treatment facility to treat
the water from the wells. Tata & Howard
conducted a water treatment facility siting evaluation
and pilot study; and completed the design of the treatment
facility, which utilizes ozone and ultrafiltration technology.
Tata & Howard also provided construction administration
services for the water treatment facility and associated
new raw and finished water transmission mains. The facility
has treatment capacities of 1.2 mgd for iron and manganese removal. The facility includes a main building that houses static mixers, ozone feed equipment, chemical feed equipment, prefilters, membrane filtration equipment, instrumentation and controls. The project also included approximately 10,000 linear feet of water transmissioon mains.
We also successfully provided
assistance in securing approximately $6.2 million with
a zero percent interest loan through the SRF program.
